BACP Accredited and Registered

I Iam a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am both Registered and Accredited with them.

BACP sets, promotes and maintains standards for the profession and was the first organisation to achieve recognition for their register. BACP membership requires a commitment to high standards of practice, ongoing professional development, and includes ensuring that casework is regularly discussed with a counselling or psychotherapy supervisor.

Accreditation demonstrates an additional level of skills, knowledge and experience above the minimum required by the Register.

A little bit about Carola

I am an attachment-focused, trauma aware integrative counsellor with a particular interest in sexual and relationship issues. Alongside my private practice I am also employed as a clinical counselling supervisor for Relate.

Since my initial training, my therapeutic work has been in a variety of settings, including GP, Forensic, and Relationship Counselling Services. In 2011 I was among the first therapists trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy in the UK. I am passionately convinced by the efficacy of this approach and integrate it into both my work with individuals and  with couples.

Being brought up on a farm I have a practical side, but my adult life has always included enjoying supporting others. After reading Social Science I became a State Registered Nurse and it was my later experience working on a chemotherapy unit that made me to want to train as a counsellor - not realising that this would lead to a complete change in career!
